I'm going to stray from Anna's format of cat-related posts and blog about various topics. To start, as the title states, I'm pretty sure I watched a drug deal "go down" today.
I was pumping gas near my office at one of the gas stations that has a detached bathroom building. I saw a rough-looking guy come out of the convenience store part of the gas station with a bathroom key attached to a foot-long stick. For the sake of this blog, we'll call the guy Ricky. So Ricky was on his cell phone and looking around, which seemed harmless enough. Then, rather than go into the bathroom, he got back in his car. This seemed odd, so I decided to watch him while my car finished filling up. About a minute later, a lowrider pick-up truck with extremely tinted windows pulled up and parked next to Ricky's car.
(On a side note, I remember asking my parents to get my car windows tinted when I was in high school and they responded with, "Absolutely not. Only drug dealers have tinted windows." This was while we were riding in my mom's minivan with tinted windows, by the way. On another side note, they also though that only drug dealers had beepers, so I wasn't allowed to have one of those, either.)
A skinny, strung-out-looking girl then got out of the pick-up and got into Ricky's car. Again, this seemed kind of weird, especially since the driver of the truck didn't get out. A minute later, the girl got out of Ricky's car and back into the truck, while Ricky got out of his car and went to the bathroom. My car finished filling up while Ricky was shooting/snorting/smoking in the bathroom, and while I considered sticking around to confirm with Ricky that I did, indeed, witness my first drug deal, I thought better of it and went on my way. Must have been a drug deal, right? I think so. I guess my parents were right about tinted windows. I didn't see a beeper on any of the parties involved, so the jury's still out on that one.

What you should have done is waited around for Ricky to come out and then given him your business card. Drug dealers and buyers alike are always in need of a good lawyer, or at least a cheap one.
I am cracking up right now. I totally remember Mom and Dad saying that only drug dealers had tinted windows and beepers. Congrats on this milestone in your life! :)
